Facts from the March Unipol Meeting

Take a look at the latest facts and statistics regarding student housing properties in Leeds from our recent Unipol meeting in March.
Student Housing in Leeds
- Number of Applications for University Places in 2017 according to UCAS fell by 2.6% from the previous year
- Applications from UK fell by 3.1%
- Applications from EU fell by 3.1%
- Applications from non-EU rose by 2.8%
- There is in an increase in applications from UK 18 year olds
- There is a big decline in applications from people aged 21 or over
- The number of acceptances at the higher and medium tariff Universities
- The number of acceptances at the lower tariff universities has dropped
- University of Leeds number of Undergraduate students grow by 11.6% from 2016 to 2017
- Leeds Trinity Universities numbers of Undergraduate students declined by 23.1% from 2016 to 2017
- Leeds Beckett University and Leeds Trinity University have seen Undergraduate numbers drop from 2013-2014 to 2017-18 by 15.6% & 16.7% respectively.
- Leeds University has increased its post-graduate numbers 22.5% in the last year
- Leeds University has the lowest proportion of acceptance from the home region
- Also, specialists institutions, Leeds Arts University and Leeds College of Music find acceptances are mainly from outside the region
- Leeds Beckett University is looking increasingly regional/local in character. In 2014 acceptances from applicants in Yorkshire and the Humber contributed 39.1% by 2017 the proportion has risen to 47.9%
- This is likely to mean less people require student accommodation during their studies.
- Leeds Trinity University, the proportion is approaching two-thirds (64.5%)
